About Us
Bo Garner, president of Remote Data, Inc., graduated from the University of Texas with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business and began work in Hydrolab Corporation's sensor department in 1976. Garner was made president of Hydrolab in 1989 and opened its Systems Integration Department in 1995. In 1997, he left Hydrolab to open Remote Data, Inc.
Since then, Remote Data, Inc. has produced custom-designed real-time water quality monitors mounted on poles and buoys. Each is intended for long-term, unattended deployment far from any utilities. Solar power and a variety of telemetry options make it possible to economically and safely monitor environmental conditions in extremely remote locations.
As demands have changed, RDI has added features for utility companies (spread spectrum radio, ModBus, SCADA), aquaculturists (machinery controllers, dial-out alarms), biologists (GOES and OrbComm satellite), and others (weather and other sensors). Some users asked for, and got, the option of automatically posting data and graphics to the Web.
And now, thanks to long-awaited changes in the cellular communications industry, we are pleased to offer economical data retrieval over the Internet.
Over the years, RDI has developed very helpful relationships inside the industry's top manufacturers, such as Campbell Scientific, Coastal Environmental, Hydrolab, YSI, Kyocera, Mouser and many others, as well as with software and biology professionals. If we can't solve your problem, we'll put you in touch with someone.
